My last trip to Venice - Dash Wakelam

I am currently taking a career break from my job as a lawyer for the UK government and having spent much of this time writing a diary of my travels, I decided that writing was much more interesting than law and I should do more of it.

I have a UK Bachelors degree in law having graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 1996 and a Masters degree in Business Law with the emphasis on intellectual property law. I worked in education and training for several years before completing my legal studies and qualifying in the UK. Before my year off, I was commuting between my home in Cornwall and my work in London

I love travelling and I wrote this whilst waiting for a plane at Newark Airport in New Jersey and finished it off at Denver airport. Of course, I enjoy reading and have an interest in social networking sites and how their development has an impact on society. I have a particular interest in the current developments surrounding Facebook and privacy issues and I am watching this keenly, as Facebook has been my way of connecting with home whilst I have been away. During my travels I am frequently accompanied by my friend who is a wheelchair user, so I am keen to share our experiences of visiting a number of different countries and also around the UK and hopefully assist other wheelchair users.

I finish work at the beginning of March and I have just completed a 3 month road trip of the West Coast of America, Arizona and Nevada and I will shortly be heading back to Europe to for more adventures in Croatia, Turkey, Greece and Italy.

When I am not on a plane or the internet, I enjoying running and I am in training for my first half-marathon.
